We offer the highest standard of care, taking full account of the child’s individual needs by using the “Early Years Foundation Stage” guidance and “Statutory framework” requirements (2013/2014) to monitor their development through observations and photographs of their experiences and achievements in nursery. Parents can access these records at anytime by speaking to their child’s key worker.
At Peter Pan we maintain a fully inclusive environment that provides learning through play as well as hands on experiences that fulfil children’s need to learn through participation. These include a variety of structured and stimulating activities for children of all ages, gently preparing them for the more formal environment of school.
All activities take into account of the needs of individual child whilst preparing them for the requirements of mainstream primary education and the National Curriculum. We always work alongside local authority regulations and ofsted requirements to ensure our high standard of care.
Peter Pan Nursery offers Early Education funded hours please contact the nursery for further information.
At Peter Pan we strive to always make learning fun. Stimulating children’s minds from a young age allows them to experience new learning opportunities every day.
Helping children to further develop their key skills is vital for their social, emotional and cognitive development, this is why we aim to always ensure that there are new and exciting ways for children to learn while having lots of fun at the same time.
We encourage children’s learning potential by using language and experiences that stimulate both inquisitive and creative thinking. We use a variety of teaching materials and experiences to suit individual developmental abilities and needs. These include a variety of outdoor play opportunities as well as a range of indoor experiences to introduce children to a variety of learning styles.
Peter Pan offers a wide range of play experiences inside as well as outside. We work hard to ensure all of our children enjoy their nursery life which contributes to the friendly family atmosphere that we have developed over many years.
We encourage children to include others in play and to be kind and thoughtful to others. Our friendly environment allows children to play with different age groups thus encouraging good social skills and development. As part of their daily experiences they will encounter different activities such as music and movement, singing, creative arts and expression, role play and much more.
Activities include outings to our local park Coombe Abbey in which we participate in pond dipping, meadow walks, bug hunting and face painting in our teepee tent. Visits to our local supermarket with pre-school children in conjunction with current learning topics. Trips to the butterfly farm or zoo have been enjoyed by our pre-school leavers annually. We are very lucky to have regular visits from a local Falconer and bird enthusiast, who brings a variety of birds of prey and small animals to meet the children.
We celebrate many different festivals to introduce children to many different cultures found around the world. We celebrate through, song, dance and creative research.
We also enjoy celebrating the children’s birthdays, encourage group participation in singing and birthday fun.Once a year we offer a parents evening to discuss your child’s development and targets for the future. This also allows you to come and view their learning journal, meet other parents and view our ever changing nursery.
“My daughter began attending Peter Pan nursery when she was 23 months old, and began her pre-school classes there also, until the age of 5. She became a well socialized, happy and enthusiastic child who adored her time at nursery. The pre-school education she received meant she was top of her class upon attending Reception, and has continued there since. A friendly, and hard-working nursery environment in a beautiful location!”Becky, Coventry
What can I say about Peter Pan nursery other than – Amazing! My children went there from 14 months through to school age and I cannot recommend them enough. Being an Early Years Teacher myself I was very fussy about what I wanted for my children in a nursery and an Early learning environment. Peter Pan encompasses everything I wanted and more – the nursery itself and it’s setting is welcoming, safe and stimulating; the staff are skilled practitioners who have high expectations of both learning and behaviour; they make use of their beautiful surroundings which enables them to have a holistic approach to the children’s learning; and above all when you walk in all the children are so happy!!!!!
All of this mixed with reasonable rates and the personable service you get from Denise and the gang easily makes Peter Pan nursery the only nursery I would ever recommend.Lucy
“Both of our Children joined Peter Pan, following the birth of our Daughter. Like all working parents, it was difficult to say goodbye to our gorgeous children each morning, but we always did this in the knowledge they were going to have a wonderful day. We handed them over to regular caring faces, who got to know the specific needs and meet our expectations of their care. One of our most precious pictures is where they have ‘chickens’ on their heads after visiting one of the local farms and we will always remember the ‘sheep’ stories after their visits during lambing season. Their transition into Primary School was fantastic due to the pre-school structure Peter Pan were able to implement. Peter Pan was more than a nursery school, during those 4 years, we all made some lovely friends”Rupert and Angela Saville, Rugby
